This asset to the academy was the result of many months of determined and untiring labor, of continuing generosity to the school by The Booster Club. 93 Junior- Senior This is the highlight of the last semester. It's what the juniors worked for all year long - selling candy, cakes, rummage, anything! Washing cars and serving at the canteen . . . anything to earn a dollar. And then when the money is finally in hand, comes the challenge of changing a bare gym- nasium into a Blue Hawaii or the Old South or An Evening in Paris, 95 The Junior Class of 1973 decided that proms are fashioned from equal parts of crepe paper, staples, pepsis and sweat! And wasn't it beautiful - this sidewalk scene? The star-studded sky, the checked tablecloths with the striped awnings, the street lamps! Tired juniors could relax and admire what they had done. 97 IT'S SPRINGTIME was presented by the kindergarten classes of Mrs. Anderson and Mis. Hiers at the close of the 1973 year. Two of the seniors, Phyllis Hiers and Terron White, assisted with the music and singing. nofSfme, 98 The kindergarten students sang old favorites - Tiptoe Through the Tulips and I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover and others. The scene was an old fashioned garden. The children dressed to represent the different flowers and vegetables. 99 Graduation 1973 Graduation Exercises were held Monday evening, June 4, with Mr. Albert Watson, Former Congressman, addressing the twenty-six members of the Senior Class. Terron White made the Valedictory address and Shari Benton, the Salutatory. Mr. Jones, Headmaster, presented the class to Mr. Boris Hurlbutt, Chairman of the Board, who awarded the diplomas. 100 Awards Day 1973 A special Assembly is called each year in the final month to honor students who receive special recognition. Special scholastic honors were received by Shari Benton, Kay Bowers, Jim Gentry, Janet Greene, Robin Odum, John David Steedley, Mary Wynn Todd, and Terron White. 101 A time to bruise; and a time to heal' 102 A time to break down and a time to build up, 103 The Beauty Miss Talon to$ Julie Robinson 109 Miss Senior Cathy Crosby no Jennie Beach Miss Junior in 112 Helen Beach 113 Robin Strickland Robin Robinson . ■ W _ Miss Eighth Grade 114 115 Sports Head Football Coach - Mr, Covington Assistant Coach - Mr. Humphreys JV Coach - Mr. McBride Coaches McBride, Covington, and Humphreys 116 The season of 1973 was started in August with a new coaching staff and a new system of play for the Warhawks.
