H pann ed' Q ni g 'j -H, i ' 'a Z qui r fic: VR V , . N, Student Government. Near the end of this semester, news reached us that Mr. Kaplan, Boys' Vice-Principal, was going to Audubon Junior High School. His duties were taken over by Mr, Hamerman. B9 One of the most drastic changes in our three years at J.B. came when we began to receive piles of homework in such subiects as Spanish, Latin, Algebra, English, and good old Social Studies. Many fine members of our class ran for offices which they would hold in their final semester at J.B. Oh yes- we were mighty proud when the B's defeated the A's in the annual Dustbowl game. A9 Where have the years gone? Here we are, A9's, the leaders of our school. We had witnessed and helped with two types of school government, the beginning of the P.A. system, many thrilling Dustbawl games, Ploydoys, Club Burr programs, many memorable instal- lations, J.B.'s fine assemblies, Burr Frolics, and other exciting events. Alon Harris started out our A9 semester as Student Body President, and the A9's chose Mike Katzev to preside over their class meetings and Council. ln planning our activities there was always the problem af our size-our large enrollment. For this reason, Q lang standing tradition was broken as the A9 class did not attend their own graduation. Instead, they were seated in the bays' gym until it was time far them to march across the stage to receive their diplomas. During the semester, guidance assemblies were held which helped U5 choose our B lO programs. Interest inventories were taken proved to be a lat of fun. The A9 Breakfast, the Camera Days, the day we got our colors, and the afternoon dance all added up to make this last semester a rich one. Class colors were powder blue and white. The carefully worked out theme for graduation was Daring to be Different. Our final Evening in Paris was one of the most delightful events, We of the class of Summer l954 wish to thank you -Mr, Thomas, our patient grade counselor- Mr, Lloyd, Miss Baller, and Mr. Hamerman, administrators who worked always to make our school experience the best-and all the teachers who worked generously to prepare us throughout our three years far our graduation day. Our thanks can best be read on our faces as we walk down the aisles to the solemn music of Pump and Circumstoncef' You have given us opportunities to learn and to grow, to become happy and succesful young adults. We of the A9 Class give you our sincere thanks.
