Mrs. Florence Trempe certainly deserves the dis- tinction of being one of Burroughs' Teachers of the Year. Her untiring work in teaching the Student Government class and in organizing the student body leadership render her one of the most valu- able teachers in the school. Mrs. Trempe strives constantly to aid the student body officers in their numerous difficulties. The officers are especially grateful for her devoted work on their behalf. She also demonstrates her expert teaching abili- ties in her secretarial classes. Future secretaries receive valuable guidance from Mrs. Trempe, and they enjoy her friendly, gracious attitude. Her pleasant smile and kind words are enjoyed and appreciated by everyone on the campus. Mrs. Trempe has been truly a Teacher of the Year, and the students of John Burroughs say many thanks for her fine work and pleasant personality. TEACHERS UF THE YEAR In recognition of his outstanding and un- ceasing efforts, Mr. Ralph Brandt has been chosen as Burroughs' Teacher of the Year. Mr. Brandt has been one of the finest and most hard-working teachers that our school has had. On the football field he has molded the B's into some of Burroughs' finest teams. His help- ful advice and ideas for better play developed the players into successful, closely-knit squads. The players sincerely appreciate his efforts to shape them into a winning team. Mr. Brandt also performs an excellent job in teaching some of Burroughs' history classes. He does a fine job in making this sub- ject interesting and enjoyable. His students. his teams, and the faculty agree that Mr. Brandt is a fine teacher, coach, and friend, he is most certainly a great asset to John Burroughs, and for this reason he has been voted Teacher of the Year.

This title is to be retained by this group until they become the recipients of the Articles of Graduation on June fourteenth, nineteen hundred and sixty. During childhood they emerged from the Moat of Ignorance and entered ele- mentary schoolg a few years hence they entered the vast reaches of the Cham- bers of Learning in junior high. After a lengthy, arduous climb, they ascended at last to the Tower of Attainment and Fulfillment in senior high school. This class has pursued their goal relentlessly, and we present them with pride.
