17 - g,,,,,,a YY' gi 0 fs A W Thou knowest the mask of night is on my face, Else would a maiden blush bepaint my cheek For that which thou hast heard me speak tonight. Fain would I dwell on form-fain, fain deny What I have spoke, but farewell compliment! Dost thou love me? I know thou wilt say Ay'2 And I will take thy word. Yet, if thou swearst, Thou mayst prove false. At lovers' perjuries, They say love laughs. O gentle Romeo, If thou dost love, pronounce it faithfully. O if thou thinkst I am too quickly won, I'll frown, and be perverse, and say thee nay, 50 thou wilt woo, but else, not for the world. In truth, fair Montague, I am too fond And therefore thou mayst think my 'havior light, But trust me, gentleman, I'll prove more true Than those that have more cunning to be strange. gb in bv-f li' I TI n ,. 11- - X A s aj., 4 . 1 , I I I 5 f , a 2 5 E is if .fl I ,- V, ll ' ag - 2 , ,. -if 'ff wr l Patricia jones, Kim Tripp, jill Nadler, Alicia Kemp, Pamela Scheper.

Bowne's Cl mpic Hopeful 1 Kevin Kelly, a senior at john Bowne High School, has spent a good deal of this year travel- ing to various parts of the world in order to box. He first became interested in boxing because he wanted to strive for an achievement out of the ordinary. Kevin's friend had several trophies, helping to inspire him to reach his goal. Kevin thinks people give boxing a bad image. He feels the sport is a science, entailing great concentration and controlled movement. Kevin ,, . was informed by the police that his punch has twice the power of an ordinary person's punch. Therefore, he has learned to back away from a fight. He punches with both hands, confusing his opponents, and making him that much more S 12' dangerous. Kevin's past competitions include the Nation- als, Regionals, Golden Gloves, Eastern Trials and Junior World. He currently ranks number one in the state and number three in the country. He is eligible for Olympic trials and is presently going for his world ranking. Amateur boxing is better than professional boxing, in Kevin's opinion. He feels the treat- ment and privileges are better in the amateurs. There is more protection and my payment is in clothes, he reflected. His sponsors include Adi- das, PAL and United Air Lines. Bowne's champion wants to attend New York Technical College and learn mechanics. He is E currently building a car with his class, which will . eventually be raffled for the school's benefit. Education is important to both Kevin and his coach. He must maintain at least an eighty aver- age in all his classes in order to continue boxing. Kevin has a tutor to assist in his studies while he is traveling. His grades have significantly influenced his boxing career, for Kevin's father will not allow him to continue to box if he does not maintain a good average in school. Kevin has been an inspiration to both family and friends. His mother is his biggest fan and keeps scrapbooks and videotapes of all his matches. Kevin's present schedule is the USA Boxing Team Tour. He will be involved in tough competition with the best in all of Europe. His tour will take him to Sweden, Denmark and Norway. When he returns to the United States, Kevin would like to become number one! 'Xi' JOH,l,,,4 95
