Warner Dear Graduates, As you peruse the pages of the Yearbook, Opus '82, your years at John Bowne will come to mind quickly. You will remember teachers, counselors, friends, incidents, accomplishments, all in a flash. You will not then be aware of the deep- rooted influence your high school experience has had on you, or to what extent the knowledge you have gleaned here will be utilized throughout your life. Perhaps a poem studied in an English class inspired you to achieve some unusual goal. The work of a great scientist may have caused you to pursue a medical career. The gripping words of a famous patriot may have sparked your interest in a career in the service of your country. The influence of a memorable coach may have caused you to seek a career as a professional ball player. Your experiences in the Math Department may have led you to opt for a career in engineering or computer science. Your exposure to foreign languages may have given you the desire to participate actively in the establishment of the One World concept so necessary to our future co-existence. There is no doubt but that these formative years will stand you in good stead as you become the mature adult who will take his or her place in society. Your high school has undertaken the task of training your mind and your body - of educating you. Educate - a word that simply means to bring out the best that is in you. Our faculty joins me in wishing you a bright and successful future. We pray that the years at John Bowne High School were the best of times for you. Sincerely yours, KQQX Pearl M. Friends we have made, Joys we have shared, lmages that will stay ln our hearts forever. These are days of happiness And though we will see many more, None will ever fill our hearts With such precious memories. Though our paths may never cross again And though our lives may be different We will always fondly reminisce About the Best Of Times. by: Radhika Vankadara 81 Susan Nunizata e 'rtrst step Xnto the hahs, to another step, and yet another. war an open beckontng door. t untarnthar roorn. taces. th teadkng V p you to d t h tnto he S inendty 9 ro ethng ou hroug r arnthar un.
