Le Francais f'54 El Espanol L'Italiano Our Foreign Language Department is a place where you can learn to say anything in more than one way. The head of the department is Mrs. E. Baer. The Foreign Language Department is made up of a sizeable number of dedicated teachers who not only enjoy teaching, but who enjoy conversing and im- parting their knowledge to their students. ln the classrooms the students are instructed in the correct pronunciation, sentence construction, and reading and writing of the language. There is very little, if any, English spoken. Our teachers try to get the students to think their thoughts only in the Ian- guage they are speaking - not to translate into English. This is a difficult task, but when drilled and drilled, it is possible. A knowledge of foreign language is not only a pre- requisite for college bound students, it is also fun to speak and read for pure enjoyment.
