P f. H-'ft Y ' A?- E GLISH DEPARTME The English Department in Bartram aims to pro- vide all students with a broad background in lit- erature. The scope of studies widens as the stu- dents move towards graduation. The department is guided in these efforts by Verda F. Cavallaro, the department head. The teaching staff consists of twenty-five members who are continually reviewing and revising course offerings. Emphasis in the major courses tends toward imporvement in speaking and writ- ing skills while analysis and criticism are stressed.
