1 u MoT1v 'rio Bartram Motivation is one of Bartram's annex- es which was set up for those students that ' haven't yet made up their minds whether or not they plan to go on to college. Motivation gives the students with the potential to go on to higher things the atmosphere to realize that they have the incentive to accomplish a higher - goal for themselves. Some of the courses of- fered at Motivation are English, French, Span- ish, algebra, elementary functions, American history, social science and four or five gelectives. When students come to Motivation they are expected to participate in the cultural activi- ties offered. We have a cultural organizer and she receives tickets to the opera, ballet, mod- ern dance theatres and other enjoyable and educational activities. Dr. Pontz, the guidance counselor, makes ar- rangements for admissions officers of well- known and unknown colleges to make visits to Motivation to familiarize the students with colleges they may be interested in but don't know about. All of the graduates from last year's class went on to college. Some have gone to colleges in Philadelphia and others have gone to colleges a great distance away. Dr. Pontz hopes that all graduates from the class of 1975 go on to college. Every month or so we have what is called Open Fridayn. This is a day in which differ- ent activities are held to make up for not hav- ing a gym. One of the foreign language teach- ers has cooking classes others have hikes and tutoring in various subjects, others go bowling or play basketball. Annually near the end of the school year we have a show at Playhouse in the Park. There we have a display of talents, fashions, and drama. After the entertainment, awards are presented to students and teachers for various achievements. PP funn! Left Page Top: C. Moskowitz, B. Beard, D. McRae. Middle: K. Hutt, C. O'Hara, D. Cole- man, M.
