From the sandlots of Southwest Philadelphia has come a group of athletes to form one of the finest baseball combinations in the history of the Public High League. Under the great leadership of Coach Menchy Coldblatt, our Bartram High boys completed their fifteen-game schedule without a defeat, in their first venture in the league. Bartram's champion team was honored in the auditorium and received the Princeton Cup, emblematic of the Public High School League Championship. An interesting program was held. Members of the Phillies were included as speakers. Presentation of the trophy was made by Harry Snyder, director of the League, to Captain Swigler. Coaches and captains of other league teams were also present. Awarding of letters and sweaters was made by Coach Coldhlatt. .95'

Jay Vee Football Finishing its third successful football sea- son, Bartrarnis second team has annexed its sec- ond championship since entering the Public High League. This year the team was excellently coached by a new member of our Physical Education Department, Mr, John Klingman. Of the three tough years on the gridiron, the Jay Vee squads have come through with only one defeat. The first two years the teams were undefeated but unfortunately lost the initial game this season to West Philly, but Coach Klingmanis boys romped through the other teams with victories over Southern, Central, Olney, Overbrook, Ben Franklin and Frankford, and finished the season undisputed champions. atb: Barbour, Federman, Zuhrack, Hummel. Gym Team The team has completed three successful years and Coach Keebler speaks with pride of last yearis team which finished fourth in its in- itial entrance into Public High League competi- tion - an excellent showing: for the ugreenw gymnasts. Mr. Keebler has some excellent gymncists in Bonsall, Buchanan, and Greer. With last yearis experience and many of last yearis letter men back, Coach Keebler is confident that Bartram's gym team will give the other high schools plenty of competition and will have its best season next term. aight gg 13 GQ? l i ' l - Q , 0 Q., 1 HE Q ,,, wg? ii ' H 96
