For the first time in the school's seven year history, Adams sent a runner to state competition. Senior Ernie Harris competed in the state cross country run and finished 47th out of 112 runners. But the strength of the team lay with the jayvee runners paced by sophomore Darrell Jabin who finished first in one meet and high in the standings in several others. Also, Jim Benbrook and Mike Wetter usually finished in the top six runners at this level. The women's team did well individually, but as was similar to the men's varsity, finished well down in the team standings because of lack of participants. Only Karen Gressel and Natalie lvanoff competed. 5,

Team wins Few for gymncists Overall team weakness but top individual efforts, a common state- ment when referring to Adams athlet- ic teams, aptly describes the men's and women's gymnastics teams for 1975. Even thought both teams managed only one win fthe women against Jackson and the men against Mar- shalll, several standouts were tops in their events. For the women, top all-around gymnast was Marca Weinberg who. was especially strong in floor exercis- es, Monica Wickstrom on the balance beam, Robin Cusma on the vault, and Cindy Boyd and Tammy Evensen on the uneven parallel bars. The men also had some fair performances from Troy Dickenson on the vault, Mark Renwick on the rings, Mike Jump and Ken Jones on the parallel bars, Jobel Verzosa on the side horse and George Clauser on floor exercises. lbelowl team members cheer on good performance, lrightl George Clouser competes on side horse, labove rightl Jobel Verzosa holds position on par- allel bars.
