Varsity wins three gcimes We set out to win, but that didn't happen , stated Head Coach John Hairston. Finishing the season with a 3-11 record, the Pats dropped again into the PlL's East Division celler. Hairston said that commitment and dedication seemed only to flourish in one person, Rick Hays, who played shortstop for the patriots. Those results obviously displeased most people involved, but none more than Coach Hairston. We set out to win, but we just couldn't put it together. The big win was a 4-0 shutout over Jackson. The teams talent was no less than any others, but you just can't teach a person to run fast. Mark Ell, Fiick Hays, Pete Demas, Tim Crawford, Tim Helzer, and Mike Gentry are the graduating seniors. Frosh Basebah Roin, losses mcirk seoson The Adams JV team ended their season with four wins, two looses and two ties which resulted when darkness halted both games. The Freshman Team, however, fared less well, win- ning none while losing four. Both teams were plauged by rainouts during the damp spring. JV Coach Flon Brown said he was glad there were enough sophomores and juniors to form a team. Frosh Coach Steve Anderson said his team played hard and that they deserved to play more games. The frosh had an unusual member on their team,--a girl. Natalie Ivanoff became the first female in'Adams history to participate on an all-boy team. She proved she was up to the challenge by winning a starting role. 111
