English Department Opens Reading Lab To improve the basic reading skills of John Adams students is the goal of the English Department for the 1975 school year. says Mr. S. Schulman. head of the English Department. To achieve this goal, a new project has been added - The Reading Lab. In this lab, students from various English classes spend at least six weeks learning vocabulary, spelling, and other basic skills of reading. The English Department has benefited from the fact that John Adams has been named a Title One school. On this program they took a field trip to the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival to see the pl y A Comedy of Errors. A trip to the Cleveland Playhouse was also arranged. In addition to the Reading Lab, five new teachers were added to tile department staff, giving us a total of 19 working together to improve our students reading and language ability.
