MX II , X If'-I Raymond Trusch IT WAS four years ago that a group of freshmen came aboard the Clipper ship lohn Adams, and prepared for a long voyage As each term ended, the ship entered the harbor, and they watched part of the crew leave while new freshmen took their place Soon they realized they were entering the harbor for their eighth and final time, lt was their turn to say farewell to the ship and the rest of the crew and step out into the world of business, or sign up on their ships of learning. Yes, the Senior class now leaves Adams, but with mixed emotions We are glad We are leaving, for now we may use our knowledge to make our start in life But at the same time our hearts are saddened with the thought of leaving the place where four of the best years of our lives have been spent, Some- time in the future we will have forgotten much that we have learned here in these 'past four yearsX What we will never forget is the lun we've had. Our many friends, class night, the Prom, sen- ior buttons, the thrill of first wear- ing our class rings, and, finally, our graduation exercises will be memories that will always be with us, They are a few of the things that have made school something more than just books, homework, tests, and report cards. We owe our thanks to our Skipper, Mr. Clarke, and to our many fine officers. Without their unstinted patience and coopera- tion, our four year voyage would not have been as smooth sailing as it was. After graduation, we will be on our own to begin turn- ing our dreams into realities. lt will not be easy, We are step- ping out into a world such as few other classes of Adams have ever had to face Today, the problems and mistakes are of our fathers Tomorrow, they will be ours to solve and to amend. What lies ahead in the future? Only God knows. To us it is a challenge. We, the graduating class of Iune, l952, accept this challenge, for we know, we are the future.
