45 17 Om ax XX l COULDNT STAND the cold barren look of our lrvmg room as l Walked throuah rt Wrthout a frre the room was lrfeless The frreplace was wtth out lts flamrng logs and looked a brt ugly Seerng thrs l decrded to start a frre to lrven the room to make the artrfrcral flowers seem to grow the objects rn the room come to l1fe and make everyone who passed through the room happy l started to prck up papers here and there and then Went down to the cel lar Where the logs were stacked just Wartrng to be used Graspmg some matches l started back to the l1v1ng room wlth a feelmg of galety and do mg somethmg brg After all a frre s a brg and Wonderful thmg Placrng the logs and paper care fully l l1t the paper lt burned raprd ly l sat down as soon as l saw the logs had caught frre There l sat lovmg every mrnute of thrs Wonderful pectacle Watchmg the flames danc Enthusiasm DOLORES TEICHMANN mg merrrly and the logs crackhng therr song Everythrng rn the room took on a look of happmess The plants awoke from therr slumber and seemed to look fresher greener and you could almost see them growrng The curtarns seemed to perk up The floor looked more glossy Everythmg looked shrn rer The andrrons gleamed so much as to almost blrnd you for a rnmute Lrfe was rn thrs room and every smgle oblect seemed to reflect 1t l felt a surgmg rmpulse to shout and smg because th1s frre W1th 1ts br1ght colors and Warm hues made me feel as 1f l myself Were on frre l couldnt keep my eyes from lts escaprng flames lts so m1raculous when you thmk of rt lust str1ke a match hold 1t to some paper and Wood and soon you have a spectacle that 1S breathtakrng Our frreplace was no longer ugly but a beaut1ful msprrrng srght The cold drab lookrng brrcks had become Warm and brrght, glvrng off a Warmth that made me feel safe and glad to be ahve These flames, these beaut1ful flames, rf they would Just stay ahve lrke thrs forever But they are slowly decreas mg, all the trme gettrng smaller and smaller Soon there Wrll be no more The glowmg embers wrll soon dre and lrfeless ashes Wrll be the sole remarn der of my gorgeous creatron 14 ' F?
