Interest in Education Mr. Virgil Landry became the third principal in the history of John Adams High School. He was an assistant principal prior to this year. Mr. Landry earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1952 at Butler University and his Master of Arts Degree at Ball State University in 1963. He has also done additional graduate work at Indiana University. MR. VIRGIL LANDRY: B S . Butler: M.A.. Ball State: Principal Mr. William Przybysz became the assistant principal in charge of student activities this year, after being a social studies teacher at Adams. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1958 and his Master of Arts Degree in 1965, from Ball State University. Mr. Monte Sriver is a new assistant principal m charge of educational services, after being an Assistant Principal in Plymouth He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1961 and his Master of Arts Degree in 1964, from Ball State University. 13

Business Class Prepares For Future Careers The Business Department at Adams, headed by Miss Puterbaugh. is able to offer a wide variety of courses through the use of modern facil- ities. Students often take typing and notehand to use in their high school classes and In future college courses Other students ' career ambitions draw them to these classes. The DECA program gives students the oppor- tunity to experience life in the business world while they are still in high school. These pupils attend classes in the morning to learn the funda- mentals of business, then they report to their jobs in the community for the remainder of the day. Through this program, students are able to see the advantages of having a background of classroom knowledge before entering the working world. The business courses on a whole afford stu- dents practical experience and knowledge which they can apply to their careers and studies. Audrey Niespodziany hopes she won ' t make a typing error.
