Gold Orchestra Pins were awarded to Kent Brown, Carolyn Deardorff, Nancy Giordano, Patricia Guyon, james Hoover, Marilyn Wintz, Paul Wolfram, and Leonora Young, Tower jeweled Pin was awarded to james McNeile. Gold to Betty Hulbert, Lois Lenon and Fred Wegner. Silver to Patrica Center Patricia Guyon, Patricia Hardy, Pamela Hudson, Kathryn McVicker, joyce Schleiger, and Barbara Sheehe. The Library Gold Pin went to Lorraine Edmunds and Gloria Enfield. Silver to Helen Connally, Phyllis Gorsuch, Darlene Piper, Francis Walls, and Patricia Weaver. Debate pins, a new award, were conferred on Charles Ortt and Paul Chalfant, who received jeweled keys, and jerry Gibson and Paul Wolf,- ram, who received sterling keys, The students who led the class as officers were Fred Wegner, president, Don Howell, vice president, Therese Lazarra, secretary, and jeanette Graf, treasurer. Their class received much aid from their sponsor, Miss Kaczmarek, who helped organize their class activities, She was assisted by Mr. Weir, Mr, Nelson, Miss Law, and Mrs. Mc- Clure. Those students who served on the senior cabinet were Pati Guyon, Pat Biggs, joe Catanzarite, Dick jensen, Bill Thoner, and Roger Wade. Kathryn McVicker was Bacalaureate and Commencement Chair- man and Fred Wegner was Senior Assembly Chairman, john Bennett was in charge of the Prom which was held in conjunction with Central on May ninth in the Palais Royal, Fred Wegner wrote the senior play, School Daze , which starred jim McNeile, jerry Gibson, and Beverly Watson. The play was a burlesque on the school and featured a scene from Mrs. McClure's class room. The speaker at Commencement was Dr, james W. Clark of St. Louis and music was provided by the school orchestra and glee club, At Baccalaureate service on Sunday, May iS, Reverend Frank C, Martik addressed the graduates of the four South Bend schools. The TOWER conducted a poll of the seniors to discover some outstanding members of the class. It was found that most students believed jerry Gibson and Kathryn McVicker most likely to succeed, Glenn Personette and Beverly Watson the best looking, Don Howell and Betty Lou Bryant to have the best personality, Glenn Personette and Therese Lazzara best dressed, and john Leonhard and Lois Lenon the most humorous h WENTY-THREE people were gradu- ated under the General Educational Development Test since the '46 Album was issued. This plan provides that those who entered the Armed Services before completing their high school courses could ob, tain their diplomas by successfully passing a battery of tests adminis- tered by the Armed Forces Institute.
