Lenon 43 cc - as fafzence ATIENCEH is a typical Cilbert and Sullivan production in that it is a satire on the environment and the social customs ot the English people during the late Nineteenth Century. The special phenomena that lvlessrs. Casaday's elaborate costumes, tur- nished melodic background tor the production and did an excellent job with the rapid-tire Gilbert lyrics. The number that really brought dovvn the house vvas the super-aesthetic appearance ot the duke, the colonel, and major. lvluch credit is due the directors, Mr. Casaday, Mrs Pate, and Mrs. lvlcClure, and the students vvho vvorked so hard and had tun doing it, The Adams PTA, vvho sevved up the Casaday costumesg and the property people, vvho ransacked the east side, deserve much credit. l Gffy Gibson as The Solicifor ind Joyce Huffman Norma Zimmerman, Theresa Lazzara, EVQF X is and Lois Lenon Three aesthetic maidens clinging passionately 6 Joyce Huffman, Theresa Lazzara, Norma Zimmerman, and Lois Lenon in Their second act busfles -9 Curtis Heckaman as the major, Don Stephens as The duke, and Robert Neilson as The colonel. 45 xxie 'Ml FOLIRTH FOW, left to right Dagny Lenon, Beverly Harden, Lorraine Nichols, Lois Lenon, ifathrvn Mcvicker, l Miller THIRD ROW1 Mrs L T. Krider Mr. Powell Mr Neff ooib l-lE won and lost totals for Adams' '44 football team makes very sour reading. The team won from Coshen and Central Catholic, and was defeated by Central, Riley, Washington, I-al3orte, and Michigan City. As Roy Andrews said at the basketball banquet, it was a season for character building. Glen Zubler Lawrence Turner john Goldsberry, Captain Three veterans of last years team, Coldsberry, McKinney, and l-leckaman, and a lot of novices started the season against Mishawaka. The game was played at the Mishawaka field and a near capacity crowd saw the Cavemen win twenty-one to six. The crowd also saw john Coldsberry give a brilliant demonstration of tackle play- a dem- onstration that he was to repeat for the rest of the season. The Central game featured some very rugged football. Both clubs were so anxious to win that they gave the officials occasion to pace off a total of one hundred seventy yards in penalties. Twice this free yard- age gave the Eagles the ball deep in Central's territory but both times the boys lacked the power to punch over scores. lvlorrical of Central was far and away the star of the game, however our own punters, Andrews and Nitz, deserve a blow for averaging forty-seven yards per boot. The final score: Adams O- Central 7. At Cioshen the Eagles got a taste of victory. Coach Coldsberry had reached deep into his bag of tricks for a razzle-dazzle pass offense that lined the boys up practically anywhere but in normal position. lt was good medicine for it payed off i3 to 7. lVlcKinney plunged for one score Roy Andrews Dan Walters and Louie McKinney Curt l-leckaman was r xx N X Xiu' Sr. 'T lim Bovvlin Dare NesTIerode Bob Casey To climax a series oT c:ompleTed passes and l-leckaman Threvv To Mur- phy Tor The second.
