MARCHI G U IT . . Throughout the year, the Johnsonettes encouraged school en- thusiasm and attendance by taking an active part in many activities. Basketball and football games, Talent Show, Junior-Senior Prom, Winter Carnival and graduation are a few. With Mrs. Gunvor Scheff as'advisor, the 58 marchers met daily to perfect the spirited routines. The Yankee Doodle routine proved to be this year's most popular. Others were, Captain jinxn, Five Foot Two , High- land Flingn, and Darktown Strutters Ball . C I J' Www The Johnson Skating Unit represented our school at many festive events ,during the year. The list of activities included four performances at the St. Paul Winter Carnival Ice Rink, half-time entertainment during the regular season hockey games at the Auditorium and a special exhibit at Williams Arena during the Region IV play-offs. This gregarious gang practiced their routines every morning from 7 to 10:30 a.m. during Christmas vacation at Phalen. The group specialized in the Winter Wonderland glide and the Sailor and Cowboy routines. Mrs. Sheff was their hard-working advisor and Mr. Gibbons' Johnson band played the tunes for the numbers.
