The enthusiastic members of the Johnson High School Band, under the direction of Mr. Hugh Gibbons, played an important part in the 1959-1960 musical year The Band started the year with participation in the Homecoming Parade and the Payne Avenue Harvest Festival Parade. The school song echoed through the varied crowds at football, hockey and basketball games. This boosted the spirit of all the spectators. , -i x? The sparkling batons of the Majorettes and the wav- ing banners of the Flagtwirlers led the Band in the Winter Carnival Parades. A thrilling event for the band- men was playing for the National Majorette Twirlingu Contest at the Armory. The Springtime activities included the Annual Spring1 Concert, the yearly banquet and performing at the 1960 Graduation ceremony.
