COLEMAN'S 1976 GOLF SEASON The Coleman Golf team triumphed in the UCAL in the 1976 season. The statesman compiled a record of 14 v ins against 2 losses. Their difficulties arose only in matches against Ellenville and New Paltz. The team was led by Brian Croswell, Mike Murphy, Howard Shambo, Bryan Smith, Tom Palmer, and Jim Sumis- laski. Four of the six starters returned this year. The team's coach was Mr. Joe Mannello. It was his first year as coach, and proved to be a good one for him. SR.-FACULTY BASKETBALL On Wednesday December 1, The An- nual Senior-Faculty Lick 'Em Bas- ketball game was held in the Coleman gym. They tried awfully hard but it just didn't work out. The girls had a terrific team and no one could have been more ready and willing to play but somehow, every- thing went wrong. Maybe it was because they didn't realize that they were only going to play two quarters until the first was over. And although the competition could have been a factor, it was pre- determined that it v as not. With such great names as Kathy Turck, Pat Schat- zel, Mary Mahoney, and many, many more, all behind the fantastic coaching job of Janet Knott, you're winners, even if you lose. The faculty team was led by Marion Moose, Susan Swift, Onnie-AII-Star, Elizabeth Elusive, Cathorine-the-Great, Debby Daring, and Lucy Lightening. The final score v as; Faculty: 13, Sen- iors; 8. Starring scorers on the boys' team v ere: Mark Berardi, Shayne Gallo, Joe Char- mello, Damien Prendergast, Noel Sickler, and Bill Robertson, manager. The Faculty's starters included Mr. Synan, Mr. Voerg, Mr. Spada, Mr. Mastronardi, Mr. Bitonte, Mr. Sechol, and Mr. Safford. The game began with high prospects for a first v in in the Seniors' favor, but as the game wore on this probability re- duced constantly. The faculty triumphed with the final score of 61-55. Better luck to the Class of '78!! 93

THE HALLOWEEN HAPPENING On October 29th, the goblins and gouls of the Senior class broke loose during the first two periods of the day to cele- brate Halloween. Talent was discovered in some class members that no one ever realized existed. The event proved to be fun for those who participated. It was a break from the continuous monotony of a normal Friday schedule. The events and their winners are as follows: Musical Chairs— Jane Kuschner (H.R. 1) Apple-on-a-String— Joe Augustine (H.R. 16) Bubblegum Blowing Contest— Mike Kandl (H.R. 16) Marx Brothers Contest— Carlo Tornatore (H.R. T.R.) Brian O'Neil (H.R. T.R.) Paul O'Connor (H.R. T.R.) Tim Quilty (H.R. T.R.) The Seniors certainly appeared to be reliving their childhood memories this Halloween, as bubblegum snapped and feet raced to be first before the music stopped. Fun-loving faculty members also seemed to enjoy the nostalgia of it all.......
