Cross Country The John A. Coleman Cross Country team repeated as champions of Di- vison 1 with a 5-0 record. This marked the fourth consecutive sea- son that the Statesmen were undefeat- ed in dual meet competition. The fourth place finish in the UCAL championship meet at Ashokan, com- bined with the results of the dual meets, tied Coleman with Rcdhook for third place in the overall league standings. Armand Benincasa, Jim Farrell, Damien Prendergast, and Elaine Can- non were medal winners. While Bet- ty Ann Jerkowski won the Girls' Race. Ryan, and J. Higgins. J.V. Soccer This year under the supervision of Andy Mastronardi, JV Soccer scored a fantastic record of six wins, two ties, and no losses. When asked about the team. Coach Mastronardi said: I feel that the JV Soccer team had good spirit, and good players who got along well. The defense was the team's strongest point, and I would say that if there v as a UCAL title for JV Soccer, Coleman would def- initely have taken it. This year's team had an excellent line up, yet the most outstanding players were Art Anderson (fullback) Willy Cannon (halfback), Bill Cote (fullback), and Dave Charm el lo (goalie). However, all the members of the team should be congratulated for a job well done.

Field Hockey The girl Field Hockey Team finish- ed fifth in the league with five wins and five losses, just missing the Sectionals. The most outstanding players on the team were Catherine Blum, the cen- ter forward, who scored the most goals for the team; and Janet Knott, center halfback, who put up a good defense for the forward line.
