Ferris high school is the degree of responsibility that the students can earn and use. The kind of responsibility that one owes to his nation, his state, community, school or family. This is so well stated in the writings of Joel E. Ferris. He says, I believe that each one owes a debt to the community in which he lived which can be repaid in small part by a gift to the agencies and institutions existing for the purpose of helping mankind, educating and inspir- ing the young, raising the spiritual standard of life. I would like to emphasize the gift of leadership, ser- vice, citizenship and scholarship that can be given by the students to their school.
