X , . x X x x Cf. :fir ,J-Qt '-1' -QA ry X5 W. 1 Yxgy 3 ,5 4 Westwwwh From city life to wilderness They pushed across the land. Across the raging rivers, Over the burning sand. Through the uncut forests, Over towering mountain heights, With famine, hardship, and disease, And the lonely days and nights. Westward they strove with doubt and fear Clinging to hopes and dreams. Surviving as best they could Through any ways and means. Leaving behind their homes and friends They set out to reach their goalg To blaze a trail to the new land, No matter what the toll. West, on a perilous journey, Wim patience and courage they went. Unaware of what lay ahead, Curious of just what it meant. They could not have known what the future Would bring with the passing of time. Since the completion of our new buildings, I know that the opportunities for learning and living together are increased ten-fold. The students and staff will be able now to develop traditions and values so important for good morale. Joaquin Miller High School is now a reality.
