HIGH CHUDL June 2 , 1959 Dear Members Of The Class of '59s Graduation day will make a lasting impression on you. It is a time for rejoicing, congratulations and best wishes. It is an occasion when achievements are recognized, honors awarded and the counsel of experience spoken in the hope that you may better under- stand what to expect ln the future. Every moment wisely used will help to fortify you to meet with courage and confidence the most threatening challenge to our national existence, that must be met in the life time of your gen- eration. It has been expertly planned and highly organized by a sinister government which aims by direct and devious means to con- fuse men's minds, weaken their wills, destroy their souls and then conquer and rule the world. Your American heritage of freedom and bounteous plenty are blessings from God and the labor and sacrifices of men. As bene- ficiaries of a free society and an abundant life you are obligated to defend and strengthen the American way for posterity. The future will belong to that nation or nations whose peoples will try, even though they fail at first, yet, will try again and again to help mankind realize his hopes and aspirations for freedom from want and fear. If freedom is to survive and to be enjoyed by those now denied it, then, your generation must accept the hard task of enlightened and fearless leadership, and the responsible role of good citizen- ship. To meet successfully the challenge that is directed against all freedom loving people demands that you be steadfast in patriot- ism, resolute in honor, unwavering in trust and have an abiding faith in God. This is not a pleasant message to bring you on your gradua- tion, but conscience dictates that you be put on guard against the struggle of attrition now under way, lest we lose what our fore- fathers have gained--freedom. I wish you a world at peace with all nations in the spirit of good will sharing each others fortunes as well as aiding each other in times of misfortune. Sincerely yours, Law ce B. Morris H
