THE JIM THCIRPE AREA EEHCICIL DISTRICT .JIM THDRPE, PA. ' T. D. MITMAN SIJFERVIEINE PRINCIPAL February 3, 1957 To the Senior of 1957: The excercises which mark the end of public school life are called commencements. 'fommencementl' is an apt term. lt means Hbeginningn and the question naturally arises: The beginning of what? I know of seniors who have told me that Mwhat counted was that they were through with schooln. To those people I could not, in all conscience, wish a happy and prosperous future, for, whether we realize it or not, the learning process continues as long as we live. A Not so long ago strength was measured in terms of muscle, -today it has become a matter of knowledge,-knowhow. So my message to you, today's seniors, is to keep on learning, preferably in a school. A school is simply a place where one can learn and be guided by people who know. T. O. Mitman Supv. Principal 38
