0, .754 will meet the winner of District l and 3. Leading scorer was our own six-foot-three David Anewalt. The Jim Thorpe yearlings under Mr. John Heycock had a season record of fourteen losses and four wins. The yearlings are expected to give the varsity a big boost when the Olympians lose seven seniors. In December the Oratorical tryouts were held in Room 7. Carolyn Smith was chosen as the girls' representative and George McArdle as the boys'. We were all very proud when, a few weeks later both George and Carolyn won the County Contests. Our sincere congratulations to Mrs. Mangan who coached them on to victory. In March the members of the National Honor Society were announced. They were: Dave Anewalt, Louise Begel, Thomas Ackerman, Beverly Watto, Rose Marie Moll, Lucy Kibler. All six were very excited about their honors. In April the Senior Play, 'gThe Perfect Idiotf' was presented and well received. lt was directed by Miss Neast. Beverly Watto, Thomas Ackerman, John Brander, George McArdle, Francis Stehle, and George Rontz had important roles. In May the Senior Ball was held. The class colors of green and white dominated the decorating theme. We all realized that this was our last school dance, and we enjoyed ourselves to the utmost, determined to let nothing spoil our memories of this night. In May we also Went on our class trip which was enjoyed by all. We collected many souvenirs and memories which we shall always cherish. In June the Senior Class presented its Class Night program. lt was well received by our relatives and friends. We are very grateful to Mrs. Theophilus and Mr. Keiser for their time and advice in helping us to make this night a success. A few nights later, forty seniors reecived their diplomas. Now we are on our own. Our sincere thanks to everyone who had anything to do with our reaching this final day. 33
