Unfortunately, our Varsity Basketball team suffered a poor season this year. The boys faced stiff com- petition in their first year as members ofthe Black Diamond League. Although our boys won only three games throughout the season, they tried hard and showed good sportsmanship to the end. The Senior boys were the mainstays ofthe Varsity team this year and they played regularly all season. They also led the scoring parade. Edward Kostishion scored a total of 366 points, Marvin Hurley and James McHugh scored 282 points and 176 points, respectively. We hope to see the following boys, who will be Seniors, on the team again next year: Alvin Sellers, David Anewalt, Francis Stehle, Glenn Confer, Dale Allen, Thomas Ackerman. This year the Junior Varsity squad experienced a very successful season. Our boys emerged victorious from fourteen encounters and were defeated in six games. James Maehrer led the scoring parade with a grand total of3l5 points. Eugene Mullen came in a close second with 307 points to his credit. 1 The performance of our Junior Varsity raised the hopes ofthe fans for a championship team in years to come. Junior Varsity .
