It is really an honor for me to be a part of this history making annual. What a thrill it is to be able to celebrate the 200th birthday of our great country. When the United States first became a nation, other countries felt that there was no way the nation could survive. We have survived and have the oldest existing form of government in the world . Public Education is a great factor in our Demo- cratic Society because our nation of the people, by the people and for the people. The Democratic Gov- ernment under which we live has existed for 200 years because the people in our nation have t.he abil- ity to understand and take part in all governmental affairs . During this Bi- Centennial year I would like for each student in this school to be aware of the great country in which we live and to be proud of the her- itage we have in this community. It has been another wonderful experience for me to work with all the employees that work so diligently for the students of this community. Each person you meet from day to day has played his important part in creating the atmosphere of faith, hope, trust, love, and the desire for the continuation of the peace and freedom for the future . The will of God and ingenuity of man have brought about the progress of our community.
