It is really an honor for me to be a part of this history making annual. What a thrill it is to be able to celebrate the 200th birthday of our great country. When the United States first became a nation, other countries felt that there was no way the nation could survive. We have survived and have the oldest existing form of government in the world . Public Education is a great factor in our Demo- cratic Society because our nation of the people, by the people and for the people. The Democratic Gov- ernment under which we live has existed for 200 years because the people in our nation have t.he abil- ity to understand and take part in all governmental affairs . During this Bi- Centennial year I would like for each student in this school to be aware of the great country in which we live and to be proud of the her- itage we have in this community. It has been another wonderful experience for me to work with all the employees that work so diligently for the students of this community. I would like to congratulate each student in the Jim Ned School Sys- tem for your accomplishments during the year. t 4.4
