Special Education Programs Office Practice, G.E.D. and Teacher Aide positions. Joanne Enevoldsen and Tamie Holmes participated in Office Practice under Judy Berg, school secre- tary. These girls answered telephone, did filing, typing and simple posting. The G.E.D. program at the high school helped three people to ach ieve the equivalent of a high school di- ploma. Those receiving diplomas were Lisa Lindstrom, Astoria, and John and Margaret Girt, Elsie. Lozetta Williams was also en- rolled in the course. Teacher's Aides, stu- dents from free periods, were used during various periods throughout the day. Duties included correcting papers, individual tutoring, musical accompaniment, shelving and checking out books, recess duty and other things as the need arose, This not only helped the teachers involved, but proved to be quite an eye-opening experience for the aides. Aides involved are as follows: Lonnie Foster--Music and Li- brary; Rose Butler, Laurie York, Diane Hanthorn--First and Second Grade; Duke Wilson, David Twombly--Seventh and Eighth Shop; Steve Olstedt--Biology; Elaine Smith, Toby Norman--Seventh and Eighth Math; John Kerns, Steve Olstedt, John Wingenbach, Laurie York, Keith Borders, Greg Bellingham, David Samuelson-- Library.
