I o QJLCGCQ Si, au cours de nos annees d'etude, notre intelligence, s'ouvrant at la connaissance des langues, des sciences ou des arts, a saisi un peu l'idee de Dieu . . . Si notre caractere a acquis de l'eleva- tion morale et par la pratique des vertus, et par le contact journalier d'ames gene- reuses . . . Si notre coeur a appris 51 cornpatir aux souffrances des autres et que notre main obeissant at la dictee du coeur sait s'ouvrir aux besoins de l'heure . . . Si, par notre personnalite, nous exercons une bienfaisante influence dans notre milieu . . . Si nous sommes preparees at jouer notre role de chretienne dans la societe ou nous entrerons sous peu . . . C'est que durant les douze annees de notre vie d'ecoliere nous avons largement puise aux sources d'une education catho- lique. C'est donc en ternoignage d'appreciation et d'affectueuse gratitude que nous, les finissantes, dedions notre annuaire, l'Echo de 1953, fi toutes ces educatrices desin- teressees, nos maitresses d'aujourd'hui . . . comme celles d'hier. 5 Notre paroisse

Manbieu 7.-17 The 1953 Echo is in your hands through the combined efforts of the graduating class and the generosity of its friends and sponsors. In june, a new class, schooled in Christian principles and determined to hold high the ideals of its Alma Mater, will join the ranks of society. How can each graduate play well her role in the complex world of tomorrow? With this question in mind, we develop our theme: Better Women . . . Better World! The air, the screen and the press are filled with plans for a better world . . . But radio speeches, forceful edito- rials, or series of world conferences will never succeed at reforming the world en masse . . . Leaders must strike at the root- of the evil: the moral decline of nations. Since no nation is better than its families and no family better than its women, it is obvious that the greatest need of the day for a better society is i'Better Women - women whose works will agree with their faith, women who, as mothers, teachers, daughters, sisters, or sweethearts will fashion a better generation of men for a truly Better World.
