CLASS PRGPHECY une 16 1950 rs a day that I will long remember Coming from my danly task as telephone operator at the New England Telephone Company I met Therese Gaudreau secretary to Mr Locke rushlng to Thereses Beauty Salon As we both entered, to our great surprrse we found that the proprietor was no other than our former classmate Therese Archambault We chatted for about an hour of the good tlmes we had enjoyed at our dear esus Mary Academy She told us that durmg her lunch hour she had met Mlrette Coutu just back from college, takmg a few weeks vacatxon before entermg Unlon hospital as an mterne We rnformed Therese that Mother Irene was back from Canada and now at our own Convent Therese suggested that we go to the Convent to v1s1t Irene so we charged ourselves to telephone all the grrls we could reach Time had pa sed without our notrcmg rt We bnd her farewell and left On our way to McWh1rrs we saw three drgmfled lookmg nurses commg our way Who would have thought that these young women clad m whlte unnforms were Lorraxne Gravel Clalre Dufour and Paulme Gaudreau also of our graduating class of 19459 We told them of our ndea They sand they would be glad to come and contmued on thexr way to the hosprtal We then entered McWh1rrs where Paulrne Hebert was bookkeeper Glancmg at evemng dresses we saw Clarre Charron who had chosen a certarn number of gowns for her appearance at the Metropolrtan Opera She could not possibly attend the reunron because she was leavmg for New York at five thrrty We went on our way to the telephone booth and called Claire Lussrer a bookkeeper at the Credit automoblle busrness Clarre took the responslbrlrty of tellrng Ceclle Chauvette cashier at the Fall River Trust Company for Clarre often went there to deposit money Leavmg the Academy Burldlng, Henrrette Lajoxe and Edna Burke came face to face wlth us Henrlette announced that she was now secretary to her father and Edna an attorney at law rn the same buxldmg They readlly agreed to our suggestxon of meetmg At the bus stop we met Lorette Lapre a reporter for the Herald News and Estelle Pelletrer a journalist on the same paper Lorette would help us by lettrng Therese Guxmond and Evelme know for she was passmg by their store Therese and Evelme were conductmg a successful dress shop ust before reachmg the bus we heard someone calling To our great surprise we found that rt was another of our former classmates Ahne Delrsle now a prrvate secretary to Mr Hardmg She stated that she would gladly inform Therese Desnoyers and Marguerite Garneau of the meetmg Both were typlsts m a downtown department store On entermg the bus we met Norma Lachance a successful publrc accountant Upon leavmg the con veyance we saw Dorls Dugal commg towards us We greeted each other and found that she had now left her posmon as typlst to become a successful house wrfe Dorls would gladly mform Jeanne Bonneau who was keeprng the books .I , ' ' .
