The record of its activities is remarkable and very laudable. The anniversary of the founding of the Toledo Board of Education was commemorated May 3 by holding open house in all the schools, and by a parade May 9 in which all the schools took part. It was on May 9, 1849, that the first Toledo Board of Education was created.
