It now occupies the front of the study hall and has study facilities within this area. By the end of the 66-67 school year the collection of books has grown to about 2, 000 volumes, about one half of these have been added this year. This is a step in the right direction but this progress must be continued if our Library is to keep pace with the growing needs of our student body and the expanding curriculum. We, the OFFICE EDS, exercised our MOTTO by doing office- related jobs for the school and faculty, as well as some clubs and organizations in the community—and our sponsor nagged” us toward our GOAL. —Tours of several Waterloo and Des Moines businesses and offices, and attendance at the Office Education State Leadership conference in Des Moines, gave us a better idea of the surroundings in which we plan to work. Another eye- opener” was speakers from various business and professions who visited the Office Education and Economics classes. Occasionally the group revived its energy with luncheons at school, as well as an end-of-the-year banquet at the Penthouse in Waterloo, where we enjoyed ourselves, ate extremely well, and even learned a thing or two! At the first practice we were introduced to Miss Smith, a 1966 graduate at SCI. It took a short time getting used to saying Miss Smith, but an even longer time getting used to Mrs. Benson. Mr. and Mrs. Benson were married during Thanksgiving vacation, where the Senior Sextette sang at their reception. Earlier in November the Senior Sextette sang at a PTO meeting. Activity picked up and it was Christmas. The joint Vocal and Band Christmas Concert was well attended and en- joyed by all. The Conference Vocal Festival was held in January at Grundy Center. Jesup was honored by having Kathy Boyce chosen to Accompany the 500 voice choir, under the direction of guest conductor Charles Matheson, of SCI. Work continued as preparations were made for the Vocal Concert in March. Two weeks later the Vocal and Intrumental departments presented a joint contest concert. April 22nd the vocal groups went to Eldora for Large Group Contest. Culminating the year's activities vocal groups will sing at Baccalaureate and Commencement. It's been a fine year, and one the Seniors as well as the underclassmen will never forget. MIXED CHORUS OFFICERS President..........................Steve Pecenka Secretary-Treasurer ....
