Varsity Wrestling nother outstanding athletic team from Jesuit during the 1984-85 school year was the wrestling team. This squad, like many others, was not expected to have a great season, but they did just that. The wrestling team was especially strong in the lower and middle weight classes. Sophomore Matt Parsons wres- tled at the lightest weight for the Tigers and had an out- standing season. Junior Ty Hatton, fresh from the lowa wrestling camp, also easily mastered most every opponent he faced. Sophomore Brett McGill is expected to be one of Jesuit's greatest wrestlers by the time he graduates. The next in the Tigers' line of unstoppable wrestlers was junior Fernando Buena. His superior strength put most other wrestlers in his class to shame. The two most dominating wrestlers on the squad, howev- er, were seniors. Robert Page finished the regular season undefeated and qualified easily for the state wrestling tour- nament. The other senior, Paul Ferlita, was undefeated and untied. He didn't lose until the state semifinal and wound as the fourth best wrestler in the state. The higher weight classes were no hindrance to the Tigers. Junior Rich Freddo and seniors Jack McLaughlin, Joe Miliziano, and Roger Penn rarely lost. Their ability was the key to the Tigers winning by such huge margins. This total Jesuit domination was the product of teamwork and dedication. The whole school and Jesuit community should take pride in the excellent wrestling season. Flawless Form. Artistically perfect, senior Robert Page sets up one of his season high 15 pins. Grappler Guru. Father Peter Callery, SJ., rnasterminded the program that resulted in a District Crown for Jesuit.
