Dui ing this prtlinnnarv battle for the uty crow n, tour of our Sophomore classmates u ere outstanding in performante They were lVithser, Vogt, Desmond and Childress VVichser and Vogt incidentally led the Class B league with the hickory stick, both players having an average of over 5011 for the entire season. Their splendid records on defense proved the youngsters capable of holding down their positions as backstop and first baseman respectively, and undoubtedly will reserve for them permanent berths on the 1933 varsity squad. On the mound, our Sophomore class was more than well represented by the excellent hurling of Charley Desmond and Billy Childress. These youngsters did all the pitching for the junior Jays. Eddie Toribio, Dive Iolcer and Y ernon Loisel upheld the laurels of their school in a splendid manntr. Toribio took tht century and the 220-yard dash on th. cinder pfith. Loker threw the discus and juvt-line with very good form, and Loisel finished the mile among the point men.
