Officially school was out, but students con- tinued to carry the Falcon banner. Paper drives and car washes were among the fund raising activities sponsored by the Co-Ops this summer for football ribbons and the football banquet. Commodores learned dance and drill techniques at SMU, while the TALON staff was represented at Texas A 81 lVI seminar. The GAUNTLET participated in a workshop at Trinity University and won two first place awardsg Judy Gossett in contemporary thought and Camilla Hicks in headline writing. The cheerleaders came back to ,lones from cheer- leading camp with a new award, the 'fspirit stickw. Janice Salzman, a Girls' Bluebonnet State representative, joined with girls from all over the state to run the Texas governmest for one day. At the conference, she was elected Attorney General and later was selected as one of the two girls to go to Washington to repre- sent Texas at Girls' Nation.
