Memorial . . . Brazosport . . . Triumph Don't worry, Louie! It's just a Commodore in disguise! and Tragedg Jones continued its charmed life by beating the Memorial Mustangs 7 to 6. The first two quarters were a tense situation in which neither side made any decisive gains. Then came the third quarter. Louie Gavrel passed to Ted Scruggs for a touchdown. Me- morial counter-attacked and scored a touch- down. The Mustangs attempted to score again in the fourth quarter, but fine defensive play- ing by J ack Kovar stopped them in their tracks. Jones finally met tragedy at the hands of Brazosport. The first quarter began in a mood of apprehension and saw the Exporters score a touchdown. Jones remained scoreless until the second quarter when Scott Sands sprinted fifty-two yards for a touchdown. The fourth quarter, began on a note of opti- mism for Jones and ended in dismal sadness. Brazosport scored three touchdowns. Jones ex- ploded into life in the fourth quarterq Scott Sands passed to Larry Bailey for a touchdown. The Falcons desperately tried to score on sev- eral other occasions, but failed. After the final seconds had ticked away, the score was Brazos- port 28, Jones 15.
