The Future Teachers of America is an organi- zation which acquaints students with the various requirements, techniques, and problems of teach- ing. This organization, sponsored by Mrs. Akers, participates in many local and state activities. Tutoring is one of the Jones Future Teacher projects. The members also serve the school by assisting teachers at the end of semesters. The purpose of this club is to provide its mem- bers with experiences which will further their in- terest in the field and help to establish a basis for a successful teaching career. The growing need for doctors and nurses is the concern of the Future Medical Careers Club, as they seek to stimulate interest and desire to further their studies in the medical field. Within the organization of the Future Farmers of America is a spirit of fair competition and healthy ambition which is seen as boys raise their stock for shows and fairs. Throughout the nation, in local chapters such as the one at Jones, members develop agriculture leader- ship, character, thrift, scholarship, and co-operation.
