Bluebonnet Stare BOYS' STATE Larry Phillips Could you imagine a mythical fifty-first state? Sponsored by American Legion Clubs and their auxiliaries, the mythical state is formed in Aus- tin. Representatives are chosen from each high school in Texas on their scholastic ability and other qualifications. During their ten-day stay, the citizens elect a governor and all government officials. Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Karyl Smith Award l The D.A.R. Award is given annually to the outstanding girl of the senior class. One girl is chosen from each homeroom, and then a faculty committee makes the final decision. Each aspirant is iudged on dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. The Jesse H.
