Kelly Turner sees a familiar face in the crowd. High Kicks Bring Victor One of the most involved student organizations at l.V. is our drill team, the Gold Dusters. Precision dance is their specialty. Under the direction of Mrs. Donna Boyce, the Cold Dusters performed at football games, basketball games, and kept the crowds yelling at pep rallies. The highlight of the year for the Gold Dusters was winning a sweepstakes trophy at the Gulf Coast Regional Drill Team Competition. To win a sweep- stakes award, a team must receive a superior rating in each routine performed. The Cold Dusters suc- ceeded in doing this. To round up their year as a group, the Cold Dusters put on a successful Spring show. Many hours of after school practice must be put in for each performance.
