Peregrine Reports the ews The newspaper staff works daily to produce a monthly newspaper called The Peregrine. The Peregrine is sent to various schools in Houston, Texas and even one to Madison, Wisconsin. Selected staff members traveled to Austin in March for the ULPCJ Interscholastic League Press Conference. This conference provides valuable information concerning newspapers and report- ing. During the summer the staff attended the Sam Houston State University workshop. This work- shop and others like it are helpful in preparing them for UIL. The Peregrine staff works hard to cover as many school activities as well as state, city, and national news. At the UIL district wide contest staff members compete in feature writings, headline writing, news writing, and editorial writings.
