Track Runs on This year head track coach Tom Fitzgerald and assistants Mike Day and Frank Daniels were faced with a dilemma. There were no seniors returning to run varsity track with only 14 sophomores and juniors wanting to run. Coach Fitzgerald took his troops to several var- sity meets but found the competition too great. Fitzgerald decided to drop to the junior varsity level for a rebuilding year. Throughout the remain- der of the year they ran against teams with four, five and sometimes even six times as many mem- bers. The move proved to be successful as the cin- dermen finished fourth at Klein, third at the Hum- ble-Spring meets and third in the District meet held in the Woodlands.
