Swmirners Increase Strength The jersey Village Swim Team consists of over 40 participants, who all think highly of the team, the sport, and the coach, despite the lack of school support. With devotion from the swimmers, the jersey Village Swim Team has brought itself up to four substantial winnings in the earliest part of the season. Much of the credit goes to Coach lim Gerald, a graduate of Angelo State University. Gerald has brought the team from a menial 25 member team last year to one of the strong standings this year. Gerald claims, We're much stronger this year because of the increase in the number of swimmers. Those added swimmers really made a difference when points are tallied at the meets. The weekend of january 26, eight of the team members swam at the T.l.C.A. competition in San Antonio, a state wide annual event for high school swimmers. These team members were: james Carter, Dana Honganen, Kim Dopyera, Maureen Pitscel, Leslie Leland, Rod Medly, and divers: Mack Scott and lim Romeg. I was pleased with the results,'f says Gerald.
