Falcons Skin the Bobcats The Freshman Girls basketball team man- aged 10 wins out of 28 games, winning 4 out of the first 5. After beating Humble 34-28 for the team's fourth win. l.V. lost the next 6 before clipping Robert E. Lee 27-23 and Pear- land 24-17. The next three wins were stag- gered by losses to Conroe and McCullough. The final victory in the first round came in a blow out over Cy-Fair, 45-23. The girls opened the second round of play against Hildebrandt popping the net for 46 points and a victory. The final nine games were disastrous, los- ing eight games in a row. Tennis Reaches Quarter Finals Although the jersey Village tennis team did not have a winning season, they did show an improvement over last year. Their single defeat came over Nimitz High School in a dual match. A singles, Lisa Stach, and A girls doubles, Kelly Mclnnerney and Emily Lou, reached the quarter finals of the Nimitz Tour- nament. The top boy and girl were Greg Boughton and Lisa Stach. The top boy and girls doubles team were Phillip Seu, Brett Westphal, Emily Lou and Kelly Mclnnerney. The most improved players were Tracy Ter- rell, Leland loe, and Beth Hazlewood. Most enthusiastic and dedicated was Lisa Stach. A Sophomore David Ray exhibits his winning serve.
