After the rebound, Pat Behn puts another shot up for two. Freshmen Hit Bobcats Twice Under the direction of Coach Steve Brewer the l.V. Freshman B Basketball team won four in the eleven game season, beating Cy-Fair twice. In the first win over Cy-Fair, Billy Cox paced the Falcons with nine points. Following two straight losses the Falcons flew back to pound Conroe 48-34. These players hit in double figures, Pat Behn led ball scores with 14, Allen Lopez hit 12, and Billy Cox sank 11. The last two games of the season left the Fresh- man team with promise as the Falcons captured a win over Humble 53-44 and Cy-Fair, 53-48. spam-isi

Falcons Shoot to First Place The Freshman A basketball team produced one of its best seasons in the history of l.V., with a 21-6 season record. The boys claimed the Freshman A 16-4A title. Winning 16 and losing two bouts, never losing more than two games in a row. The Freshmen racked up two long winning streaks of nine and eight games. After two straight losses near the end of the season to Strack, 35-30 and to Cy-Creek, 40-31, the district title seemed to be darkened. Two games stood between the Falcons and the title. R. A. Stevens paced l.V. past Conroe with 26 points in the first obstacle. A win over Spring aided by a Cy-Creek loss, the Freshman A basketball team clawed the district III 6. is David Whittworth sinks a lay-up to bring the Falcons within l one point. Falcons Skin the Bobcats The Freshman Girls basketball team man- aged 10 wins out of 28 games, winning 4 out of the first 5. After beating Humble 34-28 for the team's fourth win. l.V. lost the next 6 before clipping Robert E. Lee 27-23 and Pear- land 24-17. The next three wins were stag- gered by losses to Conroe and McCullough. The final victory in the first round came in a blow out over Cy-Fair, 45-23. The girls opened the second round of play against Hildebrandt popping the net for 46 points and a victory. The final nine games were disastrous, los- ing eight games in a row.
