Bottom Row, l to r: Scooter Hazellwood, Kent Taylor, lohn Hart, Mike Boze, Reggie Reed. Preparing the boys for varsity competition is our main goal, said first year coach Don Schmitt. Our team did a good job this year. We beat some teams we weren't supposed to have beaten. I think that shows great character, replied coach Schmitt. The season record was 12-18. Although the record doesn't show the way the team played, they did managed to win the consolation trophy at the Cy- Creek junior Varsity Tournament. Playing with mostly sophomores the level of competition was much more challenging. The young Falcons met this challenge head on, never getting blown out of the gym. The most points l.V. ever lost was to Sam Houston when the Falcons were defeated 66-51. Early in the year the young Falcons defeated Lutheran 86-36. In the first round of district the Falcons managed two victories, one over Conroe and another over rival Cy-Creek. In the second round of district, the determined Falcons bulled their way to three vic- tories. Conroe, Cy-Creek, and Humble fell into the Falcon victory cage. The junior Varsity basketball season was suc- ...tftr .it ?ll7T- cessful. The young Falcons worked hard and learned many valuable lessons in order to be a var- sity competitor for next year.
