ZR Students and Faculty Double in Tenn s The tennis tournament of the year lasted approximately five days out of the month of Nlay. The tournament con- sisted of teachers and students playing doubles with one another. After many tough matches, Principal Ronnie Truitt and Tracy Terrell took first place. The runners-up were Coach Pat Spiller and Greg Boughton. Mr. Jim Tooke has a moment of regret after his close attempt to score. This year, same as every other year, the Gold-Duds V were the highlight of the Pow- i der Puff Football game. Their dance routine to the music of Bonanza was done with per- fect timing and rigid steps. Their beauty caught the eye of every person in the stands. For the fourth year in a row, .ti the teachers outscored the Cheerleaders with a score of 8-O. Traditionally, the present and upcoming cheerleaders compete against the women faculty members. Coaching for the teachers was Steve Brewer, and coaching for the cheerleaders was Alan Meek. While awaiting to go onto the field to perform, the 1978 GoId'Duds showeoff to the crowd. Student Life

Lake Somerville was a busy spot after the Senior Prom. A change in the weather could have easily ruined the day. Snow was seen in the early part of December and students had to bun- dle up. Weather: An Unavoiclable Element Weather is something that everyone must live with. Each day brings some kind of weather to go out in. ln 1978, we at Jersey Village saw it all. As we came into the year it was sunny as summer dwin- dled away. Then came the cold winds and rain for football season. As the year progressed, the weather became very fickle. One day beautiful and the next a hurricane. But as summer again neared, the weather became stable and rain was rarely seen. . Driving was not easy in snow and rain, here two students attempt to clean the windshield for better visibility. Student Life
