This year, same as every other year, the Gold-Duds V were the highlight of the Pow- i der Puff Football game. Their dance routine to the music of Bonanza was done with per- fect timing and rigid steps. Their beauty caught the eye of every person in the stands. For the fourth year in a row, .ti the teachers outscored the Cheerleaders with a score of 8-O. Traditionally, the present and upcoming cheerleaders compete against the women faculty members. Coaching for the teachers was Steve Brewer, and coaching for the cheerleaders was Alan Meek. While awaiting to go onto the field to perform, the 1978 GoId'Duds showeoff to the crowd. Student Life

Seniors Defeat Faculty o N n S I I Sadie Woodard, counselor, played a very aggressive game and kept the girls on their toes. Coach Linda Lowery and senior Linda House attempt to jump their highest. House gains con- trol. Traditionally, the Senior boy basketball players play the Faculty in 4 t f a game for the student body. This year, the senior girl players were included. The girls and the women faculty played two, six minute quarters at half court. The senior girls won. The boys and the men faculty played two, eight minute quarters at full court. Again, the senior boys beat the faculty. Because of all the foul play involved in the game, the referees were very much needed. But, they didn't call everything they saw. There was endless pushing and shoving among the rivals. The referees were teachers, Mr. Goodson and Debbie Brewer, and student Tamma Boze. It was an all out clowning around period for the entire student body. It gave them a chance to see their teachers in 'rare form' and gave the teachers a chance to be themselves. ZR Students and Faculty Double in Tenn s The tennis tournament of the year lasted approximately five days out of the month of Nlay. The tournament con- sisted of teachers and students playing doubles with one another. After many tough matches, Principal Ronnie Truitt and Tracy Terrell took first place. The runners-up were Coach Pat Spiller and Greg Boughton. Mr. Jim Tooke has a moment of regret after his close attempt to score. Mr Flay Housley and Senior Cindy Berg have a moment of discus- sion before beginning their next set. Above: Ronnie Truitt had to work hard to beat some of his competition.
