Jeannell Smith has played volley- ball and basketball tor Jersey Vil- lage the past four years. Her hob- bies are eating, singing with the radio, and reading magazines. Jeannell Smith feels that being elected Miss Sportsmanship, is something she has always tried to keep up her composure while involved in athletics and set an example to those who lose their cool. Shannon Lauve was voted Mr. Sportsmanship by the senior class. Shannon has held this position for three years. He enjoys motorcy- cling, fishing, and hunting. Shan- non has been involved in the lndus- trial Arts and Fishing Club. He has also played football, baseball, and ran track for Jersey Village. Coming to Jersey Village in her sophomore year, Denise Griswold has definitely succeeded in making her classmates laugh. Denise was editor of the yearbook for two years, and was also the varsity mascot. Denise said, I feel that I try to have a sense of humor even in the most critical situations. To make people laugh is a hobby to me, because it is fun to see what people laugh at. Class Clown Carlton Creighton is known around school as Red. He was known for saying, l'm fired up, and he caused havoc in the commons by standing up and announcing, May I have your attention, and then sat down. Classes - 209

Mr. and Miss J.V.H. . i Donna Barhorst had the honor of being elected by her classmates as Miss J.V.l-l,S. Donna has partici- pated in nine clubs, has been on the swimming and water polo teams, and has held many honors such as: Homecoming Queen, DAR. Representative, Nlost Popular Jr., Track Queen her freshman year, and Alternate in Girls State. Donna feels that this is 208 Classes 'Q' I her climax of her four years in high school. lVlr. J.V.l-l.S., Kelly Boze, was involved in lndus- trial Arts Club, Good Sportmanship League, and vice-president ot the senior class. Kelly has been going to Tin l-lall since his freshman year. Maybe that is why he enjoys dancing with girls. His other hobbies are toosball, pool, and woodshop.

Donna Barhorst was chosen by her classmates, Most Popular. Donna said, Because I have taken part in many activities at Jersey Village I feel people know me. However, I don't feel just one person can be singled out for this award. This is due to the fact that there are so many individuals who are popular in their own unique way. Kelly Boze was elected Most Popular of 1978. Kelly also held the rank of vice-president of the senior class, and also was elected Mr. J.V.H.S. He was also an outstanding student in Woodworking IV. 210 -- Classes Jeannell Smith has been involved in sports as well as other school activities. She was in many clubs the past four years: G.A.A., Fishing Club, F.C.A., Spanish Club, Science Club and National Honor Society. Jeannell was also a sophomore jun- ior varsity head cheerleader, Csen- iorj varsity cheerleader, and nomi- nated for Homecoming Queen. Jeannell enjoys being involved in all kinds of school activities.
